The Reconciliation of All Things

What, am I supposed to close my eyes during the prayer too? :-) Today Noah was dedicated at Saint Andrews Evangelical Church. We are so thankful for the amazing son God has given us to train and bring up. Please pray that we will be good parents and help Noah grow to be a man of God. 

Well folks, when family is so far away, you gotta get on the phone and chat every once in a while! 

Grandma Smith came to visit over Easter! How much fun!!! :-) 

 

It's called the Riverwalk Trail...right alongside the Broad River in Columbia, SC, before it merges with the Saluda River and becomes the Congaree River. About 4 miles long total I think one way. It's a fun run! This is the first time we went there for a run, back in March. Now we usually go every Friday morning.  

This was Noah while we went for a run...he went along, sure, but sleeping in the jogging stroller! Look at that face...it's almost as if he'd rather be fishing!  

Oh...what a life...trying to get that pale skin to look like daddy's! (gonna take a while...) This was my first swim, by the way!

Did you know about this?? U.S. taxpayers are being forced to help sustain the leading provider of abortions—Planned Parenthood. The 2003-2004 Annual Report for Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA), reveals that the abortion provider performed 244,628 abortions in 2003 —a 6.1 percent increase from the year before. In 2004, Planned Parenthood performed 255,015, another 4.3 percent increase. In all, Planned Parenthood is responsible for 20 percent of all abortions performed in the U.S. With abortions on the rise, adoption referrals are in rapid decline. In 2003, just 1,774 pregnant women were referred to adoption agencies—nearly a 10 percent decline over the previous year. In 2004, referral numbers declined to 1,414, a nearly 20 percent decrease. Even more staggering is the fact that Planned Parenthood now performs 180 abortions for every one referral to an adoption agency—and your tax dollars are helping to fund this booming business! But that's not all, even as Planned ...

In the Bible, in the book of Luke, chapter 16, verse 15, Christ is talking to the Pharisees: "You are those who justify yourselve in the sight of men, but God knows your hearts; for that which is highly esteemed among men is detestable in the sight of God". Wow. Is that as convicting to you as it is to me? I sure hope so! What in my life do I highly esteem? And what in your life do you highly esteem? Is it something that is detestable to God? Are we filling our lives with the things of God? Or the things of the world?

Check this out! This is what George MacDonald’s father said in a letter to his son: “[I cannot] bear to see that which is evidently gospel mystery torn to pieces by those who believe that there is no mystery in the Scriptures and therefore attempt to explain away what it is evidently for the honor of God to conceal. I see so much of mystery in nature, and so much of it in myself, that it would be proof to my mind that the Scriptures were not from God were there nothing in them beyond the grasp of my own mind.”
