The Reconciliation of All Things

Ben and the team have been prepping walls in order to paint the camp in Portugal. He has really been enjoying his time and loved preaching in Portuguese on Sunday. 

 

Nana and Papa Smith came to visit us this weekend and watched Noah while I went to work. Noah had lots and lots of fun!! 

Alec Edward Bacheller was born June 21st to Jonathan and Emy (Ben's older brother and sister-in-law). He is so adorable and looks just like his mommy. We think he and Noah have the same Bacheller chin :-) 

Well folks, our team from church has arrived in Portugal! Yes, we're all quite tired, being mightily affected by Jet-Lag...this is the first time I've actually felt so affected by a jet-lag flight. I took a brief 2 hour nap but still felt no different when I woke up! Having lunch in my belly has helped though...if you know me, you know that food in my belly can quickly change my mood... :-) Our flight was delayed out of Charlotte to connect to Newark, which meant we had to spend the night at a hotel there...and as you'll see in the pictures, we had a blast! It was the #1 Hotel for Distressed Passengers or airline employees! How funny! I guess you could say we were distressed a bit, but we really had fun! It's the first time in a long time that I've actually slept with a man in the same bed instead of my wife! ARgh! Anyhow, please pray for Becky as she remains in the States holding up the fort...that our Lord would protect her and Noah and give them energy beyond the...

So...have you been keeping up with the games? We sure have...We've got a favorite time...can you guess? Yep, Brazil, that's for sure...we'll just have to see if they play as well as they are all hyped up to be...first game is Tuesday at 3pm on ESPN2. Should be a victory for Brazil, as far as I know...but we'll see! The other team I (Ben) am going for is Trinidad and Tobago! Having spent three years of my life there, and having a brother born there, I HAVE to cheer for them, since this is the first time they have made it to the world cup! Underdogs, they are! I hope they make it to the final with Brazil...though unlikely. :-) Let us see how these games turn out!
